Sorin Adrian HINTEA
Senior Researcher
Sorin Hintea was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 1961. He received the M. Sc. degree in electronics and telecommunications in 1986 and the Ph. D. in electrical engineering in 1997, both from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Since 1989, he has been on the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Basic Electronics Department, where he is currently a Professor. He was a visiting professor at the Technical University in Dresden, Germany and Technical University of Graz, Austria, where he gave lectures in VLSI Digital Systems. His main research interests include designing digital integrated circuits, VLSI systems, computational intelligence and biomedical engineering.
Albert FAZAKAS
Associate Professor
Albert Fazakas received the M. Sc. Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 1996 and the Ph. D in Electronic Engineering in 2006, both from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Since 1996, he has been in the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology at the Bases of Electronics Department, where he is currently an Associate Professor, teaching FPGA design, Microcontrollers and Analog Integrated Circuits. He was also working at Digilent Romania, subsidiary of Digilent inc. US, as Senior Design Engineer. Projects were targeting FPGA development board design, especially microprocessor systems implemented on FPGA through EDK and Vivado designs. He was also visiting professor at the HAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland, Forrsa unit, where he gave lectures in the field of Circuit Theory, CAD, Embedded Systems and participated in international projects targeting Embedded Systems. His research interests include FPGA Systems, education in Electronics, renewable energy, and computational intelligence.
Botond Sandor KIREI
Associate Professor
Botond is an experienced Digital Systems designer with a demonstrated history of working in the digital integrated circuit industry. Skilled in VHDL, Verilog, Octave/Matlab, C++, and Functional Verification. Also interested in Wireless Communications, Software Defined Radios, Renewable Energy and Solar Energy. Strong educational skills, as responsible for Digital Systems/FPGA related disciplines. Currently, Associate Professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Paul FARAGO
Associate Professor
Paul Faragó received his M.Sc. in Integrated Circuits and Systems in 2011 and his Ph.D. in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2012, both from the Technical University of Cluj- Napoca, Romania. During his Ph.D., Paul Faragó had an 8 month experience at Graz University of Technology, Institute for Electronics. Paul Faragó has been with the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Bases of Electronics Department, since 2011, where he is currently a Lecturer/Assistant Professor. His main research interests include analog, digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits, FPGA systems, biomedical engineering, and computational intelligence. He was project leader on a project with the economic environment for the development of an AI-based neurodegenerative disease monitoring system (2022), and a project on biomedical monitoring systems with intelligent parameter control (CICDI 2017). Also, he was team member in a national project on optical biosensors (PED 2017), an international project on salivary biosensors for AGEs detection (COFUND-ERAHDHL ERANET) with the “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and a national project on educational technologies (CNFIS-FDI-2020).
